Happy New Year 2008!!!
This site is under Construction"Hey Guys, your attention please!
Have you ever gone to a website and found this announcement:
To me that is never good news cause it means I have to wait until they are ready with their construction.
Patience is a virtue and I hope I am not the only one lacking of patience.
In many "sites" of my life I long to click on them and find that things have change a bit. Now particularly that we have started a New Year, I find myself looking back and hoping that this year I can reach those goals I didn't accomplished last year. In this process I catch myself being too hard on myself for what I didn't accomplished. Does it happen to you too?
Perhaps I am overlooking the little steps God help me take in the past year. Maybe I have been wanting to run while God is teaching me how to walk steady first.
Last year I spent 4 days unfortunately between the hospital and home, but I used the opportunity to be still and let God speak to me and I prayed each day that I could hear His voice loud and clear of what He expected from me and apply to my life what I found in His word. Of course I long to hear His voice every day, but I was focusing on the yearly picture at that moment. This year I thank God for my health and I am spending extra quality time with Him to hear the year resolutions He has planed for me.
Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
So, lately I have experienced many of those "Be still and know that I am God" moments. It is amazing and sweet how God laid great encouragement in my path, that I needed, at a moment I was seeking to encourage another person. Last week while I was buying a gift for a friend, I bought one of those paper gift bags to put the gift in but I didn't want it to be just a bag. I wanted it to bring a message to that person. It touched me and it was refreshing, today it provides vision and reassurance to recent unpleasant circumstances.
"The Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to." Deuteronomy 15:10Many "sites" of my life are still under construction and while I don't know when they will be restored, build and ready for business, I know that am in good hands, God is in total control of my life and how great is it to know that He will bless mine and your work in everything we put our hand to.
As we look toward this New Year, I pray that you might find confidence knowing that God will take care of everything in your life if you let Him, you will be in great hands!
Today I wish to share with you this, my new perspective of being "Under Construction"!
This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD : 2 "Go down to the potter's house, and there I will give you my message." 3 So I went down to the potter's house, and I saw him working at the wheel. 4 But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him.
Happy New Year!
