Walking towards the goal!

From God's little instruction book on Friendship:
"I am confident about you in the Lord" Galatians 5:10
It is not so much our friends' help that helps us, as the confidence of their help.

As you might know I am preparing to run a 1/2 marathon in November 2008. I am trying to get into a routine of eating healthy and building up my miles little by little. The goal is to get to the 13 miles in November. So far I have ran 3 miles in an average time of 33 to 45 minutes.
Today my friend Francisco ran with me. The goal was 4 miles.
As I drove to his house I was getting cold feet and thought I would not make it. I pray to God and ask him to come along and asked Him that He would lift my feet and help me finish the goal for the day.
It was a beautiful evening. The breeze felt so good in my face it felt just as God was blowing energy into my body. Francisco kept telling me that I could do it and encouraged me not to give up. At the end we ran not 4 miles but 4 1/2 miles. Wouw!!!
I was not out of breath as I thought I would and I was amazed that we made it in 59 minutes!!
Praise God! I am convinced that when you invite Jesus to come along our race, He as a friend will help us to get to the finish line, if it is according to His will. He won't hold back! Also having a friend that has confidence in you like Francisco makes a great difference!!
Thank you Jesus, Thank you Francisco for believing that I can do it!
