2 Corinthians 2:14-17
14But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him. 15For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. 16To the one we are the smell of death; to the other, the fragrance of life. And who is equal to such a task? 17Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, like men sent from God.
March 20th is the first day of Spring. I am always very happy cause I look forward to see many colorful flowers everywhere I go. Flowers do make me feel happy and they decorate my apartment in a very warm way. When I see a flower I feel something unexplainable in my heart and the fragrance gets stuck in my nose, I don't seem to forget it.
Some days, there are people who I have never met, they suddenly smile at me. I can't help but to smile back. Believe it or not I think of that smile the entire day. Not because of the person but because of the gesture. The smiles become flowers.
According to the verse, we Christians are the fragrance of the knowledge of Christ that through us it is spread everywhere. People to whom we share the word of God receive a gift equal to the feeling of getting flowers or a sincere smile.
Christ gave the first flower with the most precious fragrance, His Life.
During this spring, I will give as many smiles as possible and spread the fragrance of the Word of God to all around me. I think of the elder people and children who rarely enjoy a smile and a flower. I boldly invite you to join me so that we can make a difference all through the year, starting this Spring.
