On Easter Sunday morning, my alarm clock went off at 4:45 am. I got up and drove to my friend Francisco's house to pick him up. We stopped at Dunkin' Donuts for coffee and of course for donuts. By 6:15am we were at Dania Beach. The crowd was making their way to the beach, the baptism registration table was busy and people were sitting on the sand looking at the Sunrise. We found a great spot and declared it FRC Doral territory. Soon we spotted some of our church members and we formed a bigger group.
This is our 3rd FRC Easter Beach Baptism and I am always very thrilled and joyful to see people make their statement of faith early on Easter morning. I am there to cheer them all. This time I had a special assignment. My friend Mirna Melo, the First Impression Director of our FRC Doral Campus could not be there at the baptism because she needed to coordinate all the final details for the church service that morning. Her husband Peter Melo, FRC Doral Campus Director and our Youth Pastor David Aguirre were at Dania beach baptising by the hundreds. Among the 500 people who registered to get baptized, Mirna's sister Melissa and her boyfriend Enrique were also listed. So my friend Mirna asked me to take their pictures. Melissa and Enrique were patiently waiting their turn when I spotted them. Then it was time. The water was cold, but to get a good picture you must go in. After I took the first shot, it seems as if an Angel whispered in my ear, take a video then Mirna can also witness that special moment she has imagined so many times in her head for so long.
So Mirna, this is how it happen:
