The Word - Are you more loving?

The question for this week is: "Are you more loving?". From the book "Ten questions to diagnose your Spiritual health" by Donald S. Whitney.

Love in real life
Whitney: Those who are growing in love will demonstrate it in at
least three areas. First, their love for other Christians will
strengthen. Relationships with Christian brothers and sisters in
the church become indispensable to those who love Christ.
Second area of growth in love is love for the lost. Jesus even said to
love our enemies Luke 6:27 27"But I tell you who hear me: Love
your enemies, do good to those who hate you,". A third area to
examine when measuring your growth in love is love for your family. This will be the most brutal
part of the evaluation. Nowhere are we more aware of our unloving words and ways than at
home. Who we are really, we are at home. Ephesians 5:25 25Husbands, love your wives, just as
Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.
So, Christian, love begins with God. We love because He first loved us. The
more satisfaction and delight we find in His love, the more we delight in
loving others.
The more enjoyment we find in God as God, the more
we truly enjoy being like Him by loving others. The
more we grow in our joy in God, the more joy we find
in the joy others find in our actions.

Dear Friends,
How did I enjoy sharing Love with you during this week!
I recommend the book, if you have time to read during the rest of the Summer, you should, it
puts things in perspective and it give you lots to reflect on. I leave you with one more verse for
the weekend:
Psalms 127
1 Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over
the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain. 2 In vain you rise
early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat— for he grants sleep
to those he loves. 3 Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children
a reward from him. 4 Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are
sons born in one's youth. 5 Blessed is the man whose quiver is
full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend
with their enemies in the gate.

Revelations 3:19-21
19Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent. 20Here
I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the
door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. 21To him who
overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame
and sat down with my Father on his throne.

I encourage you to open the door and find out what kind of Love this is!
God bless you,
Julieta Reyes
