2 Timothy 3:16-17
We can chose our friends but we are kind of stuck with family. When I was in my early 20's I realized that no matter how angry my mother could get at us, she would always love us again. She would still cook and take us places and wash our clothes etc. There was no point in applying the silent code which is very silly because the one that suffers is the one giving the cold shoulder. Can you tell at one point I used to do that? Silly that I was. At times we can get caught in the routine and we can't give the best of us to the people we love the most. We cause unnecessary heartbreak to our spouses and children.
Nowadays we live in a postmodern world consumed by technology and so many devices that distract our minds. We have become so individualistic and selfish, at least that is my observation. Perhaps it has been like this all the time and I just realized about this fact.
Yet when we take the time to share love with our loved ones, the smiles glow much brighter. We might not have perfect families but when we chose to love each other, we chose to feel happy and joyful. Our loving Father in heaven, has a gift for all of us and that is a fulfilling life through his word. All we need to be different from the Jones is God the Father, the Son and his Holy Spirit. Knowing the word of God is like hearing a whisper from God himself guiding us through life. Where do you want your family to be? Like the first picture or the second one? The second one, that is possible if we only Love one another.
