Every day we hear many voices, family, friends, co-workers, leaders, politicians, your kids and more. When we face trials it is hard to discern who has the best advise. One would think that family has the best answer because they love you; but do they really know you?Friends would add their 2 cents of wisdom but are they not struggling with the same challenges without uplifting results? Men and women think different so can the opposite sex advise us?Where do we go?
I get into the word of God and I have a selective group of friends who I trust. People who I know have a constant prayer life, not because they say so but because it is reflected in their household. There is order and discipline, above all there is love and they live in freedom. Counsel with the word of God is a good remedy for anyone who seeks good advise.
1 The sayings of King Lemuel—an inspired utterance his mother taught him.
2 Listen, my son! Listen, son of my womb!
Listen, my son, the answer to my prayers!
3 Do not spend your strength on women,
your vigor on those who ruin kings.
4 It is not for kings, Lemuel—
it is not for kings to drink wine,
not for rulers to crave beer,
5 lest they drink and forget what has been decreed,
and deprive all the oppressed of their rights.
6 Let beer be for those who are perishing,
wine for those who are in anguish!
7 Let them drink and forget their poverty
and remember their misery no more.
If we earnestly seek the Lord, he will let us find him. I invite you to join me in making an extra effort to strengthen our relationship with him even more. Lets dedicate extra time in solitude with the Lord this week.
